Music Series Statement I am interested in creating gestural marks in response to particular artist’s or group’s CDs. I am choosing music from a broad genre to explore and will be expressing these marks in association to the mood the CD evokes in me. The process involves me listening a lot to a CD while I am creating preliminary sketches and drawings in preparation for the painting. I also listen to it while creating the painting and will make a choice of a particular song or score to interpret with the gestural mark. The process takes time and a lot of listening to music, but I feel it is worth the experience. I hope you can find music for your ears while enjoying my paintings with your eyes.
